Saturday, February 23rd - Gallery host-swap & RSS/PicLens support

Permlink

After having added a "bit" more diskspace to Absynth and then also Abaddon the previous week and then synchronizing (read: copying) the galleries over from Purgatory to Abaddon, Gallery.unfix.org has been moved from Purgatory to Abaddon. This means that the galleries should now be a lot faster simply due to the difference in upstream: 1MiBi versus 1GiBi, a factor 1024 is always nice.

To make browsing in the galleries much better, I have added RSS feed support to the gallery code I wrote. This allows for instance PicLens to create a very cool 3d gallery which makes browsing a lot easier. You will now find a blue 'play' button in the galleries which will either open the full Piclens plugin or the lite version which either uses Javascript or Flash, depending what is available.

Monday, May 26th - CACert SSL Certificates

Permlink

Like SixXS, unfix.org is now also using SSL certificates from CAcert. One can thus now also use https://unfix.org/ and https://gallery.unfix.org We will try to make every host SSL enabled using this method.

Because certificates from CAcert are not yet included per default by all browsers and other such tools you will most very likely have to accept their root-certificate into your browser first. Please install the CAcert root certificate from their site to avoid the certificate warning. By installing their root-certificates all certificates siged by CAcert are automatically accepted by your browser, mailclient and other SSL enabled programs.

Monday, June 23rd - mirror.unfix.org + tor.unfix.org

Permlink
To help out the Tor Project we have setup a Tor Mirror which is also reachable over HTTPS. Additionally we have started to mirror some other sites too which apparently have difficulties of being hosted properly, as they would be missed we mirror them at mirror.unfix.org (SSL)

Monday, June 23rd - mirror.unfix.org + tor.unfix.org
