Every saga has a beginning... and some people join the saga long after it started. In other words: Suf and Phantom finally stopped using their minds for a moment and started signing the papers, thus telling us that they'd submit to every whim of the UVIS' management. <evil grin thingy> (whatever ;)

Thursday 3 February, we (Fear, Spook, Clone & me, Fuzzel) went to Within Temptation & Orphanage in the Tivoli, Utrecht. Albeit some minor technical problems it was a great show, thus I decided to go to the MetalFest in 013, Tilburg on Sunday 6th, along with Nippon & Saryon. Both where great shows and we all wait desperatly till the new Cd, along with the new songs comes out!

This week will reveil yet another Unfix.org(tm) design, so keep your eyes peeled. And there is also a possibility that our SMTP will work again!

Unfix Services are shaping up nicely. The Http Server works great and the Smtp server is starting to work too. It accepts messages by the tons at once, it just doesn't deliver them yet...

Wellps this is the Spring Edition... even though it snowed yesterday. Is it me or am I the only one who thinks the snow is four months late? This is actually the "old" unfix.org v3 tweaked at some places. See you all at Ambience 2k!

After some minor tweaking:

• Locking the font-sizes again
• Removing some effects
• (Re-)Adding spacers

I've come to this final version of the Unfix.org Spring Edition. And as you can see it now, it's online too :)

It was a lot of fun again at Ambience 2000. heaven.unfix.org had a very busy weekend serving the RBI homepage and their animation. And to continue that we've got it mirrored right here for the 66mb version. Tomorrow I will put the full 330mb version along with it... In the same dir you'll find some more stuff which I gathered relating to Ambience 2000.

Today was a shocking day... I just entered 'our' channel (#unfix), and the topic announced that Fear managed to get her exam English. This is a small step for mankind, but a big bounce for her. We can only say: Congratulations!

I've created the RFC for the JUKEBOX/1.0 protocol along with the server. The server will be installed on jukebox.uvis.fnt.hvu.nl coming tuesday! Watch these pages for the time you can download the server.. The JUKEBOX/1.0 RFC is already available in PDF format.

It's not quite straight... but it's in the correct spot now. Being the moving of the resistor R80 to r79 on the "old" ASUS p2b-ds's which Clone and Fuzzel own... See here. Suf-Duq will be buying a p2b-ds also, just like Spook who already is enjoying it for some time now :)

Well we're going to takeover and we have already done one good action: Filling the ftp server with scene music before the party even has started :)

The party is over... it was a lot of fun with enough food and drinks in the New Order/Unfix corner... TakeOver 2k was yet another leech party, only 3 demo's where really worth it and only a few anims where really anims. Check the surfnet mrtg stats to see the bulk of leeching that went on on TO2k with averages of 90mbit/s outgoing and 30mbit/s incoming... Today Fear finally got the breaking news: She has passed her HAVO exams. So keep up the good work Fear, and see you next year at the HvU.

As Suf has his birthday on the 2nd of July, Spooky the 4th and Fear passed her exams we held a major party. Which consisted out of going to Fear's graduation, where she received her HAVO diploma, the movies and ofcourse the chinese. The chinese costed us fl 666,-- as we tipped them 42 guilders, well actually 44 guilders thought 42 would have been really fantastic :) We where with 13 people, which made it a lot of fun. After the chinese we went to Fear's place and partied till early in the morning.

I tried to run Oracle's example, but it crashed on me! I think it's a conspiracy to ban all large databases, since it crashed when I got over 127 rows from a query, they want the clients to set up a couple of hundred small databases instead of one big one so that they can sell more licenses. But they've made it an official bug check it out at Oracle Support (requires a user account login=/password) or here (cached, no user+password).

An anonymous source send us some pictures of Fear posing in front of the Unite Supercomputer at Sara in Amsterdam. We'll selectively release these pictures so we won't shock you to hard and to overcome the possibility of being marked as a pr0n site. Take a first look at the first revealing picture in this series.

Yet again surgery was performed on our beloved p2b-ds boards, and they survived again! They are now 1.04 SP2 - being a 1.04 revision with both ACPI and USB patch applied. Thus this means that we can plug in our gay-hubs (sitecom speaking-hub (USB). And that misc. USB devices suddenly will work :)

Due to a power outage unfix.org wasn't available. But we turned on the power again and logically it's back again!

With the help of slashdot Clone was pointed to a nice Microsoft document explaining the use of Alpha Blending in Windows 2000. Thus we modified OnATopp to receive a slider and an extra checkbox for enabling it. We thus proudly release a special edition of OnATopp: The Alpha Blending Edition. This version can select any window on your Windows box and set the Alpha Blending options and make your window semi disappear. Check the Screenshot to see it in action.

Yesterday we already did some shopping in Amsterdam to provide good testing music for the new NAD, meaning an amp, not the thing between ones legs... Which Spook ordered as his old B&O Beocenter 3500 unfortunatly went to a better place after serving an excellent job driving many housemates and neighbours to insanity. Rest In P[ie/ea]ce(s). Pictures of Spook and his new NAD340: front, back, remote, mute-button (which is a missing feature on the Fuzzel model says Spook), where it now lives. In Amsterdam we visitied Boudisque and Fuzzel found a cool picture LP of Therion - Theli and yes its completely round like a pizza but it didn't completely fit on the a4-flatbad scanner :) And Fuzzel also scored a special edition of "Garbage - Push It" and "Garbage - Special", which the guy at Virgin nicely checked to find out it was 20 guilders cheaper than the sticker said, Thanx :) which was a very good thing due to the fact that we had an expensive shopping at boudisque already :)

Spook 1.0 (the big brother of our Spook aka Kers) arranged a cool VHS from the Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy at IBC. Now we've only have to find out either where to get the DVD version or how that AVID machine works :)

We're busy moving unfix.org to a hosting facility at MediaDesign. Due to the fact that we're double hosting for the time being nothing should be lost.. If you are reading this... all should be well.

Unfix.org is 2 years now and also because of the new hosting I created a new design (version 6) which is loosely based on the v5 style, the menu has been replaced by a series of buttons at the top and the front page has a style on it's own. The Missing & Access Denied pages are now based on the front page. And yet again, most troubles with the HTML came from, yep you've guessed it Netscape. It's simply an impossible program. The Agenda part has moved into it's own subdir and is now also one of the main buttons.
